First Football Game of the Season!

Today was Adrian's first football game and it was a success! They won against Bullet Electric 28 to 16. The first quarter of the game was not pretty. We thought they were going to be in trouble, but they evidently found their groove and the game went very well. This team is suppose to be the hardest team they will play this season. It is ironic though that Adrian is playing center and that is the position that Anthony always played as well. Adrian also played pretty much the whole game. I think he sat out maybe 5-10 minutes. Seven players from last year did not return and we only got 2 new players. A team of 16 players doesn't leave room for much down time and one player was out of town today. One of our players (#32) is going to be our star this year. He is playing both hockey and football, very tall and lanky, and can run extremely fast. He score 3 of the touchdowns today.

The slide show has pictures from Jamboree and the game today. If you can't tell Adrian is #88 and his best friend Zach is #22. They were so funny the other day talking about hiking the ball. Adrian was saying how awkward it is because some guys put their hands all the way and some barely touch, etc. Zach's response was "Think about being the one doing it!"

Oh My Gosh!!!

This morning I took Adrian to register for school and was approached by one of the vice principals who I have known for several years. Dawnetta asked me if I had talked to Mindy who is a first grade teacher at Hunter. I said no and Dawnetta proceeded to tell me that the fire that I posted pictures of was started by Mindy & her family! Evidently they had a coal fire going in the pit and was letting the coals sit after lunch because they were planning on making samores later. Mindy's husband took the kids out on the boat and left Mindy sitting at the dock. There was a big pop and a spark went flying and then the fire started. There is no cell service up there so Mindy was having a heck of a time trying to flag down either Bryce, her husband, or anyone. No charges are being pressed since there was no neglicence(sp?) so that is good. Understandably Mindy was horrified. Then I go and post all the pictures on Facebook since we had so many from that day. They are laughing about it now, but how horrible!

Many of you may have heard by now that I have a new full time job that starts this Monday. I will be working at St. Luke's Hospital in their Patient Financial Services department as a Clerical Support Specialist. The job will consist of 80-85% scanning and the remaining percent will be mail distribution and hopefully other clerical duties. It isn't exactly the kind of position I was hoping for BUT it is a foot in the door with a lot of opportunity to move up and the hours are perfect. I will work 7-3:30. Gary will be able to get the boys out the door and I will be home within an hour of them each day. It will be good. I am excited, nervous, and sad to have left the school district but I'm sure it will be good.

Mom & Dad, I ended up only getting a TB test & no shots. I will have a second TB test on Monday. I don't think I will have to have any shots unless my records from EIRMC don't come through. I wasn't too disappointed about that! Now I am off to my eye appointment. I decided I had better get contacts since I am suppose to be wearing some but haven't in many years. If I am sitting in front of a computer all day I had better be able to read what I am doing!
