It is not something we would expect to have happen in this neighborhood, but it did. Gary and I were mowing the lawn this morning and he asked if I moved the lights on the corner of the house. At first I didn't even know what lights he was talking about, but then he said that at least 2 of our solar lights we had recently put up were gone. There were still some on either side so why those 2 were chosen we have no idea. We are hoping they don't come back to try to take more, especially since we can't find anymore lights right now. We have hit every WalMart in town and in Logan, Marilyn looked in IF and no luck.
There is a home show taking place this month so this afternoon I stopped by to talk to our builder and the realtor, Tim, that lives behind us. They said there hasn't really been any theft that they are aware of. Tim did say that their little green man - to tell people to slow down (have you seen those?) - was actually taken in the middle of they day. Turns out that the guy living kiddie corner from him is a retired police officer and has surveillance cameras on the outside of his house. Rob, the retired officer, had it on camera who stole the little green man. Tim suggested I talk to him to see how wide his camera goes, so that is exactly what I did. Unfortunately he said that he didn't think he camera went wide enough to catch the corner of our house. He is really only suppose to view his lot, but he is going to review the tapes and if he finds anything he will let us know.
Not that the lights are worth a lot of money, but it is just very frustrating. On top of that the street light for our intersection has been burnt out so I don't know if that plays any part in it. Tim is going to notify the builder to get it replaced.
Is everyone still planning on making the trip for Thanksgiving? It is a little over a month away. I was adding up one night and I think I came up with about 30 people if everyone comes. As we get closer I will need to get a more definite head count so we can go shopping. Hopefully the weather holds like it has been. It is gorgeous outside today.
