Happy 13th Birthday Anthony

Anthony had two friends over to play and spend the night on Tuesday to celebrate his birthday. We also went out to eat at Famous Dave's BBQ twice this last week and went to see Marley & Me on Sat. Talk about stringing it out. Otherwise it was pretty relaxing hanging out at home building his new Lego sets and doing a little shopping at Best Buy so he could use his gift cards which was exactly what he wanted.

Mamma Mia!

Christmas night we watched Mamma Mia in the singalong version. When the movie was over Adrian decided to put on a performance for us. Here is a small clip of his favorite song:

Correction

Obviously I can't count and bad things don't happen in three's because I just remembered what started this week off was when were out shopping we discovered a nail in the sidewall of our tire on the truck. I began my Monday morning by purchasing a new tire for the truck since they can't repair the sidewall. Thankfully they had a used one in the back. It is a bigfoot where the others are a brand from Les Schwab. Of course the spare was the size that comes with the truck. When we bought the truck the dealer had put on oversize tires and didn't buy a spare in the same size.

Oh what fun!!!

Bad Things Happen in Three's??

It all started last Sunday - Gary and I were out Christmas shopping and came home only to find out our computer was locked up with what we assumed was a virus. We took it to Circuit City to find out what was wrong. After two days there we learned that it would cost us $230 to get our computer fixed but it still wasn't a guarantee that it would work then. We had already paid the initial diagnostic fee - so we decided we would just buy a new tower. Then the hunt was on. It is definitely obvious that desktops are becoming a thing of the past. Not nearly as many to choose from as there once was. Gary went back(we have been several times) to Best Buy after work Wed. and picked up a computer. In the middle of all this we realized how dependent we have become on our computer and to top it off Adrian has a report due on Monday. So we bring home the new computer and Gary is down here hooking it up, Anthony is on the xbox, and Adrian & I are working on the report. Suddenly I hear "Oh no it is the ring of death!" and Gary doing some muttering. Turns out the new computer wasn't working and about the tme Gary realized this our xbox had quit working. The screen was warbled and in Chinese and needless to say Anthony was all distraught. So we load up the new computer and head back to Best Buy. The computer we want is out of stock and they look up our receipt for the xbox (it has a year warranty) and would you believe that we bought it 12-2-07. A little over a week to late. So now we are in need of a new xbox. We come home laughing thinking surely all this has to be a joke.
Last night just before Gary and Anthony are headed back out to Best Buy to see if the computer came in, Caitlin comes up and is bummed out because the Christmas lights went out. Now they aren't suppose to go off until about 11 and it is only 7:30. Gary brings the plug inside and it still won't work. We figure it has either come unplugged on the roof or we just need to hit the reset button on one of our outlets. They head off to Best Buy and I go out on the roof to see if the lights are plugged in. Here is one picture of what I found:

This is the remains of the plug of the lights that were plugged into our extension cord. The strand had burnt off and we now have a black section on our eaves. So I begin unplugging everything & checking the side of the house to make sure it isn't still hot. Thinking this whole time just how lucky we were that it only did little damage but at the same time thinking you have got to be kidding me! This is just getting to be ridiculous.

They say bad things come in three's so hopefully our run of bad luck is over. It has been quite the week. Tonight's project is the xbox and to see if the rest of the lights on the house work or if we lost all of them. Two strands are ruined as of now.

Needless to say, I will need everyone's email address again since we lost everything and are starting fresh once again. Hopefully each of you have had a better week than what we have had here!

A Night Out

Last night Gary and I went to the Bullshead Pub in Meridian for a comedy show. We recieved the above bumper sticker for being brave enough to sit on the front row. It was also a part of his show in how he talked about when he and his fiance began living together and what happened when they started sharing laundry. He was pretty funny. After the comedy show then the Pianamaniacs begin. It is two guys playing pianos and one on drums. They take requests for songs, sing their own lyrics to some, have some horrible and often funny toasts, and just really have a good time singing and getting the audience to sing along. Of course the more $ acompanying your song request the more likely they are to play it. They will also take $ to not play certain songs. This is the second time we have been to this place and really have tons of fun. We don't end up leaving till 1:30 and when you get to be our age that seems really late. Especially when you hear the boys tromping down the stairs at 7:45 a mere 6 hours later!

They put on a great show and even when it starts to lag on certain songs we may not know or like there is always some really, really crazy drunk person(s) that put on just as good of show with their dancing.

Things to be Thankful For

The above picture are some of the things that Adrian is thankful for. In every child's work there is always something that brings out a smile when you remember how simply they think.

We are also thankful that Caitlin's court date has come and gone (as of today) with little impact. We met with the prosecutor this morning and after talking to Caitlin she reduced the ticket to following to closely and a $75 fine. It is such a huge relief to have this day over with. I have been stressing about it for the last 3-4 months. Of course Gary and Caitlin weren't as worried as I have been about the possible outcome, but we are all glad it is over. Now we just have to make it through the winter months without incident and I will be ok or atleast until I find something else to worry about!
