Meet Charlie....

How does the song go?...Oops we did it again.... This is Charlie. He is an 11 week old beagle with freckled front legs and he is adorable. We went out looking at dogs once we got unpacked yesterday afternoon without the intention of buying one. Of course we couldn't leave the pound without the kids in tears (darn near) because those dogs are so cute and really need a home ( so they say). So then we went to the pet store and found Charlie. After an hour in the room with him we made the decision and hopefully one we won't regret.

The boys are being great with him. They slept in the family room on the air mattress last night with a flashlight handy so they could take him outside as needed and in case he cried. They ended up taking Charlie out around midnight and again at 5 this morning. Needless to say we are all a little tired today since we have all been up since then.

I am very pleased to say we are accident free the first 24 hrs! The boys are getting along (now there's a surprise after the last two weeks) and working out a schedule as to walking him and scooping poop. Jake & Charlie seem to have come to an understanding with only one swipe involved. Charlie is very playful & we don't think Jake quite knows what to do but atleast he is being nice and not hiding.

Hopefully tomorrow goes just as smooth. The boys have their 4H cooking class in the morning and then ortho appts. so hopefully the fight won't be on as to who gets to do what in the down time.

I tried to get a picture of him sitting be he wasn't being very cooperative. The boys really played with him a lot this morning so Charlie was pretty tuckered out most of the afternoon.
