It was going to be a beautiful day & Caitlin had to work at 4 so we left here at 9:15 this morning and headed to Lucky Peak. The kids left about 1:30 & Gary and I stayed to fish. Being as how it was about 100 degrees you can only guess that the fish weren't biting but we gave it a good shot anyway. The fish finder was telling us that the fish were about 90 feet deep but we had no luck. We left the lake at 5. Yes, we both are resembling cooked lobsters right about now & can't quite shake feeling the rocking motion as if we were still on the boat. We decided to go to dinner at the Kodiak Grill which we saw featured on a Food Network show. The grill is actually the former Hilltop Cafe just above Lucky Peak. Our food was good but to many flies & the service wasn't fantastic. Things always look more glamorous on tv!
I took so many pictures that I just made an album/slideshow. I will try to post it in the center for you to watch but it may be on the side. It was nice to have Caitlin be able to go with us & Anthony spent more time on the tube. You may wonder why you don't see me in any of the pictures...Gary seems to have a listening problem when I am on the tube. I say slow down but somehow he hears go faster. We are still working on this. My speed is the speed we went the day we took Marilyn with her bum arm (sorry Marilyn). 20 mph on a tube feels like you are going atleast 50 - either that or I am just a big chicken!

You Tube Experiment
Adrian & Zach decided to try an experiment that they found on You Tube - the making of 'hot ice'. It involves vinegear & baking soda which you boil until crystals begin to form on the top then you need to let it cool. On the video it said to wear protective eye wear so that is where the nerf gun glasses come in. Of course they would only let the mixture boil for about 3 minutes and it is now cooling in the fridge so we will see how it turns out.

Memories...
Recently I had decided to take on the daunting task of updating our photo albums. I have since come to realize I am missing photos from the last two years. Gary is very good about taking them off the disk and saving them onto our photo drive - but I haven't been printing them off to put in albums. As I was flipping through the albums I came across the pictures below and thought I would share them. The first one is obviously quite old since Adrian is maybe 2 in the picture and I think the second one was taken the same day. I am not sure when the ones with Grandma Rhodes were taken but I believe in the last two years.

4th of July
Yesterday we spent the afternoon boating at Lucky Peak and it was a gorgeous day. The pictures are done as a collage that I have seen on another blog. I just wanted to try it. You will have to let me know if you have a hard time viewing them.
We got back into town just in time to unload the boat, pick up Caitlin, & grab McDonald's on our way down to the fireworks. It was a good show but I still enoy going to IF to watch the parade & fireworks their. Maybe next year...
