Quast's & GPS???
In prepration for our trip to Spokane next weekend Gary decided we needed a GPS. Friday night we bought one and have spent the last few days playing around with it. Of course, the boys don't think Gary knows what he is doing and incessantly argue over who gets to hold it and see where we are going. All this despite the fact that there is a mount for it on the windshield!
Anyhow, today we decided to look for some geocaches. I'm sure we were quite the site. We only tried to find ones in the city to start with & and top of that our moutains are covered in snow. Our first stop was a parking lot at Idaho Camera on Orchard. We must have wandered around there for a good 15 minutes before they realized that we were at the wrong coordinates. We hopped into the truck and drove about 3 blocks up and 1 block over to Pacific Recycling. We wandered around a small grass area for a good 10 minutes and was ready to give up when Adrian decided to lift up a water cover and found the cache. Nothing to exciting inside, a potty training book, empty lighter, and some containers from Pacific Recycling. We filled out the notebook and were off to our next venture.
I know most of you won't find this hard to believe but we ended up right back in the same parking lot where we started. This time Anthony was in charge of the GPS and it took him about 3 minutes of wandering around the parking lot before he found the exact spot which was under a sign. He looked up and there was the tin. Not very much inside of this one either. A very strong magnet, a beaded bracelet and a roll of paper to sign.
Sadly, those two about did us all in. The boys wouldn't quit bickering over who got to hold the unit, enter the coordinates, and whatever else they could find to complain about....oh, Anthony was STARVING!!!!(his words) and by this time Gary & I were starting to get headaches. We stopped for lunch and came home.
Next time I think we will have a better idea of what we are looking for and a better understanding of how the GPS works. We also decided we need to have items with us to leave in the tins.
Hopefully we have better luck with the GPS in Spokane or who knows where we will end up!

Words Only a Parent Can Appreciate
First let me start off by saying that this may seem like a rambling story but it does have a point....The other day at work a lady was eating Weight Watchers yogurt. We got to talking about it with its fiber content and the different flavors and I thought it would be good to try some. Yesterday I bought one of each of their 4 flavors they had at WalMart. Adrian decided to try the Cherry Cheesecake flavor at dinner last night. He is trying to be more aware of the calories & ingredients (sodium, sugar, etc) that he is consuming - in the end he may not really care but atleast he is reading the labels. Anyway, last night he read off about the fiber and Anthony said "You know what fiber does don't you? It helps you poop." Of course that sparked a whole other conversation and giggles between them.
This afternoon Adrian & I tried the Berries & Cream flavor. It too was quite good. Tonight just before Adrian gets into bed he comes up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder and says "Mom, I think you should definately buy more of that yogurt. It makes my poop come out easier!"
Now I realize that it isn't exactly what you may want to know about Adrian, but just the way he phrases things and is so matter of fact about it cracks us up. Since we all have boys, it isn't like that type of conversation really comes as a surprise. It just made me laugh so I thought I would share the story with the rest of you.
