We are 12 days away from moving in..... at least that is what we are planning on. They say we are still on track but we still feel like there is a lot to be done in the next week. Tile work is not complete, rock on the front of the house and fireplace needs to be finished, a few lights still need to be installed, ovens installed, carpet, wrought iron for the stairs needs to be installed, paint touch-ups, garage walls painted and floor expoxyed, landscaping, and sealer coat put on the colored concrete. It is supposed to be done and cleaned by Monday for our walk through and orientation. They will be taking 2-3 hours on Monday the 13th to show us around our house, tell us how to care/maintain different features, go over warranty stuff, etc. They actually do a ribbon cutting ceremony to hand over the keys!

They are about half finished doing the stone. The keystones that are currently white will be changed to the same color of the house. Gary didn't like the off white color.

I love the laundry room backsplash! Now all I need is a bright red washer & dryer to match!!
(I won't be getting one but they sure would look cool!)
Cabinets, microwave, cooktop, and dishwasher are in. The whole wall under the microwave will be finished in tile. They have started it but hadn't when I took this picture.
The master bath tub is finally in! It has only been sitting in the house for about 2 months. There is still tile work in here that needs to be done and then the whole bathroom will be grouted.
Caitlin & Brandon came up this weekend and we had a great time. Didn't do much Friday night. Saturday we went downtown to the Soul Food Extravaganza but there wasn't much happening so we left and went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. We had never been and we really enjoyed our food. I had a black bean burger that I am definitely going to try to make at home. That night we went to the horse races as Brandon had never been. We all bet on the horses - well we place the bets for the boys, but they picked their horses. Caitlin and Brandon won on one race about $5. Gary won on a couple, and Anthony won on one. It was down the last race of the night and Gary said for everyone to pick their horses and we would buy they tickets. If anyone won they would get to keep their winnings. Would you believe Anthony picked the top two horses in the correct order and won $112! It only cost $1 for his bet. That kid is just plain lucky!! I think we figured the most anyone would win would be about $20. Needless to say he didn't get to keep quite all of it. We gave him about $80 which he used today to purchase some new speakers for his care.
Anthony is also a working man as of last Tuesday. He is working for our neighbors who have their own painting business. The best part of his job is payday every Friday! He got paid on Friday for the first time and he is already counting the days till this next Friday. He enjoys it well enough and says the time goes by pretty quick. Jill & Mike say he is doing a really good job. We aren't sure if he will be able to continue working for them once school starts. They are typically finished by 3 or 4 every day, but they do work Saturdays so that is an option. Mike has had some really big jobs lately too so there might be some nights that he can keep working for them. We will just have to wait and see.
Work has been so nice lately. My boss had gone on vacation and was gone for 2 weeks. A few days before she was suppose to return, her and her husband hit a deer on their motorcyle by Salmon. She broke her leg, ribs, and a finger. She hit a concrete barrier/median and is extremely bruised but otherwise she is ok. Her doctor won't clear her to come back to work until Monday the 14th and even then we aren't sure how long of a day she will be able to work. It is amazing how much more relaxed people seem to be. It will be a holy terror the first few days she comes back though as she gets back into the swing of things. Her husband is ok too. He has some horrible scrapes/road rash on his back and arms and broke his hand I think it was. I don't think either one of them were wearing their riding leathers. They are extremely lucky but man work has been peaceful!
