Our Future Home

Well, we have told Mom & Dad and Marilyn so now we are deciding to share with everyone else.  We have decided to build what is hopefully our last home.  We signed the building contract Friday night and we are now beginning an exciting adventure.  Our new house is actually located just on the other side of McMillan than we currently live (we will have a Meridian address).  We have looked in this subdivision for the past two years and almost did the same thing last year.  We are anticiapting being able to move in August 1st.  It all depends on the type of spring we have as to how quickly they are able to get everything done.  We were told that we are about 6 -7 weeks away from being framed and  from there is it roughly 75 days to finish.

Of course a brand new anything is exciting, but we are most excited about the RV garage and the basement we will be adding to this house.  As Gary puts it - he will no longer be shaving his nipples off as he is trying to get past the boat into the house!  We will be able to park the boat and leave the tower up.  Even with the boat in there we will have room to park 3 cars.  On the main floor there will be 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, master & master bath, a formal dining room (we are having them take the door off otherwise it could be an office/sitting room/bedroom), laundry room, walk in pantry & living room with a fire place.  The basement will have 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, family room, and a storage/mechanical room.  We will also have a bonus room, bathroom, and storage room above the kitchen.  The storage room upstairs is more like a small bedroom with no window and shelves that line the walls.   From the picture the window on the right will be the dining/sitting room.  The three windows on top is the bonus room.

We would like to invite everyone over for Thanksgiving dinner this year.  I realize Matt & Colleen will have a new home too so maybe we can somehow share the holiday.  I know the roads aren't always the best for travel that time of the year but maybe we will get lucky this year.

We haven't put our house on the market yet and will likely be doing so in the next month.  We don't want to be homeless any sooner then we have to be.  With a dog, cat and the boys, finding a place for us to live that is convenient in getting  the boys school could get tricky.  We are thinking that if we wait a bit then we would potentially be able to put off closing until the end of May when the boys get out of school.

Life is about to get exciting & stressful!!
